Curious about what the views are from the deck of the Eiffel Tower? My friend Ken Connally captured these views earlier this month on a layover in Paris coming back from India.
My suggestion is to secure your tickets online before leaving home and arrive late afternoon so you can capture both daylight views and photos of the tower at dusk when they turn the lights on. These photos were taken early February. If you are there in June the tickets could be sold out, or one of the elevators out of service and you can't go up. The winter months are usually not a problem in being able to get a ticket.
Looking this direction you see the Seine River.
From this direction you see the park, Champ de Mars. Notice this is February and the grass is green. This is a specialty grass variety.

The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars park. It was named after engineer Gustave Eiffel whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the World's Fair, opening March 31, 1889. It is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.98 million people ascended it in 2011. The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
The tower is 1,063 feet tall, about the same height as an 81-story building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument in DC to assume the title of the tallest human-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Crysler Building in NYC was built in 1930. Because of the addition of the antenna atop the Eiffel Tower in 1957, it is now taller than the Chrysler Building by 17 feet.
