I'm sure you have seen this poster numerous times in its original iconic image and various versions and twists. Here is the Thanksgiving version.
What you may not know is why we see this poster today. It was only found 13 years ago in 2000 by the owners of Barter Books, a bookstore in England. It was the third in a series of posters made for World War II as positive messages for the English people. 2.5 million posters were made in 1939 for the war with Germany. The first two posters were printed and distributed, but this one, the Keep Calm one, in orange and white was never distributed. It was supposed to be distributed on the invasion of England. Since 2000 the public has varied this slogan to Keep Calm And ---- for many messages which I'm sure you have seen.
